College Football Recruiting 2015

National signing day is tomorrow, so it is coming down to crunch time for several big-time recruits. The latest article I read was by Fox Sports senior college football reporter Bruce Feldman.  Feldman names his Top 10 Instant Impact Recruits, including two, maybe three, from the PAC 12. His number one overall impact recruit is CB Iman Marshal, who is uncommitted, but all indications are he will sign with USC tomorrow....

College Football Notes – 02.02.15

College Football Notes – 02.02.15 If any of you guys have any great CFB articles to share, please post them in the comments section below. Thx.  ACC I found a couple interesting articles on Pitt these past few days. Pat Narduzzi plans to transform Pitt into a version of Michigan State I always liked Narduzzi’s defenses at Michigan State. Looks like he wants to bring that same tough defense, ball control offense...

College Football Notes: 01.29.15

College Football Notes: 01.29.15 College football never sleeps. So in order to keep up with all the latest college football news and get prepared for the 2015 season, I am constantly reading as much information as possible. I wanted to start a weekly post with you all and share some of the interesting articles I have read in the past few days, and maybe add a little commentary and a few random thoughts. I have also asked...

Oregon Football 2014 – Better, Worse or about the Same? Oregon Update: The Year of the Duck How often does your favorite college team have three high NFL draft picks (Two would have been first round) that decide to return for a final year?  Oregon fans are thrilled to have a veteran team returning that can legitimately point to the National Championship Playoff as a realistic goal.  This team has done a ton of winning over...

USC Football 2014 – Better, Worse or about the Sam...

USC Football 2014 – Better, Worse or about the Same? OFFENSE In order to answer this question, one would first have to decide which team they were asking about. The offense should certainly be better than the Lane Kiffin-coached and Ed Orgeron-coached squads, but it’s hard to know if they will be better than the Clay Helton-coached squad we saw in Las Vegas. Helton returns as OC and certainly inherits an up-tempo offense...

Oregon State Football 2014 – Better, Worse or abou...

Oregon State Football 2014 – Better, Worse or about the Same? OFFENSE The running game showed signs of life in the last two games of the year (Civil War, Hawaii Bowl), but before that as completely moribund, even against awful teams. Some of that was just because they didn’t have to run the ball a lot, given the prolific nature of the passing offense, but a larger element was just because they were terrible at it....

Utah Football 2014 – Better, Worse or about the Sa...

Utah Football 2014 – Better, Worse or about the Same? OFFENSE Better. The most glaring statistic that has doomed the University of Utah football program since 2008? Not one quarterback has started and finished a season as the Utes lead signal caller since Brian Johnson led the Utes to a 31-17 Sugar Bowl win over Alabama. To say the Utes have had bad luck with all the injuries to QBs recently would be a severe understatement....

Washington State Football 2014 – Better, Worse or ...

Washington State Football 2014 – Better, Worse or about the Same? OFFENSE It’s going to depend on the offensive line. Connor Halliday returns at quarterback and nearly everyone returns at running back and receiver with a few promising freshman added to the mix. Halliday was really good during the second half of the season, if he plays like that for the year, the offense could take a massive jump forward.  None of that...

Arizona State Football 2014 Spring Wrap Up

Arizona State Football 2014 Spring Wrap Up Strengths & question marks coming out of spring The Sun Devil offense is loaded with dynamic playmakers. The explosive D.J. Foster takes over as the lead back after two excellent years spilt at running back or receiver. Behind him are speedy veterans Kyle Middlebrooks and Deantre Lewis, and three highly-touted recruits—Demario Richard, Kalen Ballage, and De’Chavon Hayes—are...

California Football 2014 Spring Wrap Up

California Football 2014 Spring Wrap Up Strengths & question marks coming out of spring The team’s strength is clearly the wide receiver position. They could still use more consistency, but they’re legitimately two-deep at all four positions with starter-level talent. The biggest question mark is the Dline, specifically defensive tackle. Projected starters Jacobi Hunter (personal reasons) and Mustafa Jalil...
