  4. GoSooners GoSooners says:

Thanks ERock. BOL to you as well.

  5. Doug says:

By my count it looks like the group went 16-17-4. That 25-6 last week might be the all time record, so far it stands as the Best weekend by far. Love the site. Yall will get em next week.

    • Pezgordo Pezgordo says:

I’m seeing 17-17-4 …… I also hit the newsletter pick (Marshall +7), but anyway you look at it you are correct, last week was unbelievable. We may never be able to repeat that, but I bet we have some more killer weekends.

      Thanks for everything Doug.

  6. Xmas32 says:

Bound for a drop off after last weeks slaughter of the man. Good news is whenever two or more of you agreed on a play it was 5-2-1 (I counted the Pitt game as win, 2 of you had Pitt, Saber had VT). This was quick and dirty and there’s a decent chance I missed a game or two. Still, not all bad, appreciate the consensus link as it’s a great comparison tool. BOL!!

    • Pezgordo Pezgordo says:

Thanks Xmas32, I believe w/ the addition of Utah and Penn State, the consensus picks went 5-4 (not including Pitt), 6-4 if you include Pitt (Which I won’t because in the newsletter I said I wouldn’t, but it was definitely a game to consider w/ both jimmy and I liking it).

I really dragged the group down this weekend w/ my terrible totals picks. They really weren’t even close. Hopefully next week we can get back on track as now we have more material to work with (stats and having seen the teams play a few times).

  7. Doug says:

My Bad. You are correct at 17-17-4. I spoke with a few this morning and they all had Killer day yesterday with the Huge Favorites, such as Oklahoma State and Florida State and other big chalks.
I did use GoSooners Neb ALOT and Oklahoma State ALOT.
obtw after looking back, which is always easy i guess GoSooners Loved your Army under as he pulled the trigger 5 points for the opener…whew thats a long way. Sometimes.

  8. GoSooners GoSooners says:

Doug, you are absolutely right. Taking the Army/NIU under was probably my shakiest bet of the week. Not so much because of the number I got (the opening number had been long gone and it was still over a key number) but trying to guess the total of two AQ teams early in the season. One of which Army had only played once so far this season. So there really wasn’t much to go on with that team. Hindsight is 20/20, but I can tell you that I’ve bet an extra high number of AQ conference games this season. And normally this isn’t really my style. I’m more of a BCS conference capper.

  9. Doug says:

I remember when you first came to the Rx. I did enjoy reading your thoughts and i mentioned to you that i loved your writeups, just didnt agree with some of the points that you made. As you well know it comes down to whatever happens on the field on that day.
Next thing i remember about your start there, you were very good in the Big 12 and which you were, and still are sometimes….lol Like all of us!
As you see after i left there and mentioned to you and others that if they could stay in one conference that they might profuce More winners. Conan for example stays out west and has done very very well sinse that time. Just a thought.

  10. cashflow50 says:

Continued success to you and your staff. Kill the man boys!!!

  11. GoSooners GoSooners says:

Doug, I would stay in one conference if I really had one. Can we really call the revolving door Big 12-2-2+2 a normal conference anymore? You can’t play angles and trends with teams and coaches who have never faced each other in conference play. I actually know the Big 10 and ACC better than I do the Big 12.

    • SoonerBS says:

If you only try to have knowledge in one conference, then you do not have the knowledge to make plays on out of conference games and bowl games. Any good handicapper needs to have pretty good general knowledge on all the teams in FBS or at least the teams that their conference is going to be playing out of conference games.

I like college football and I study it year round, so I try to have good knowledge on all the teams like I know you and Pez do to.
