Rhode Island -6.5 vs Davidson

I am never a fan of spotlight games, but this number is too low here. Davidson is coming off two of its best shooting performances of the year and appears to be getting some additional love from sports book initially here. I went against Davidson earlier this week when they played St. Joes, and they yet again went hog wild from the field. Here they get to travel to the conference leader and I certainly expect Davidson to come out a bit flat. Rhode Island is plenty capable of cooling this team off with their disciplined defense. I also just don’t see how Davidson’s defense will slow down Rhode Island’s efficient offense in their own gym. Davidson is a tad overrated on defense that will need to stay hot from the field to keep pace here. Interesting to note is that Davidson is one of the best teams at not turning the ball over while Rhode Island is one of the best at forcing turnovers. This stat during the game could dictate who covers here and I’ll side with Rhode winning in this turnover battle, and pulling away throughout.

Minnesota +7 vs. Indiana

Wow has Minnesota been tough to bet on recently. 1-6 in their last 7 ATS. I had Minnesota vs Nebraska in their last game, but Pitino let a technical foul late in the game spoil a big run from the Gophers. Minnesota lost to Indiana by just 4 in their own gym earlier in the year and the big questions marks coming into this game will be Coffee and McBrayer’s status as both are sporting an injury. Whether they play or not I like Minnesota in this spot. I will mention that if one or both play I certainly like Minnesota even more. Indiana does hold the fort at home, but they don’t pull away from many teams. They are one of the worst 3 point shooting teams and also in the bottom in Free Throw %. When you struggle with both of those, it is quite difficult to pull away from anyone. Indiana also has a knack of playing down or up to their opponents this season and could certainly play down here. I just feel Minnesota is an undervalued team right now in CBB due to some tough losses making them an unpopular team to bet on. In this spot, I’m getting a few points in favor of Minnesota because the market has adjusted, and I’ll certainly take them.
